Contact with trees helps ground you, they contain energy and their beauty is astonishing, so many varieties, so many intricate details. To me they are simply magical. 
But did you know Blackwood is a truly Australian tree, in Victoria, Aboriginals used the bark of blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) to bathe rheumatic joints, or ingested it as a mild sedative for rheumatism or indigestion. 

So it’s lovely to make something for the home that’s got a sense of heritage for us, a little celebration of Australia’s natural beauty.
